Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and TTA Coaching Accreditation

Table Tennis Australia Ltd (TTA) offers the opportunity for coaches to provide evidence of their current level of competence or prior learning for TTA’s consideration to align coaches to the appropriate level of the TTA Coaching Accreditation System. RPL is the assessment process that measures and evaluates the coach’s formal and/or informal learning experiences.

Current TTA coaches seeking for re-accreditation do not go through this RPL process. Please refer to the TTA Re-Accreditation Requirements. 

Candidates are required to provide evidence of their competency that demonstrates their skills, knowledge and experience and provide details of any relevant Table Tennis Coaching qualifications

Candidates are required to provide evidence of their competency that demonstrates their skills, knowledge and experience and provide details of any relevant Table Tennis Coaching qualifications.

International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Coach Accreditation

TTA recognises the ITTF Coach Accreditation System and will align current ITTF accredited coaches to an appropriate TTA coaching level. Evidence must be provided to TTA before the commencement of coaching.

RPL Assessment Fee

In order to have an RPL application assessed, the applicant must pay a non-refundable assessment fee of $250 (inc. GST). Note that if the RPL application is successful, the RPL application fee will cover the coach’s accreditation fee and professional indemnity insurance until their TTA Coaching Accreditation expires (3 years from the date of assessment).

RPL Process

The applicant completes and submits the RPL application form to TTA. The application form is on the TTA website at https://www.tabletennis.org.au/surveys/5434/. An invoice of $250 (inc. GST) will be sent to the applicant, and RPL assessment will only start once payment has been received. TTA will contact all applicants and verify the evidence provided (e.g. checking with ITTF). All applicants will receive the RPL outcome via email.

Submission documentation

The applicant shall provide the following documentation; a) RPL application form b) Current copy of relevant Working with Children Check c) Copies of relevant qualification, accreditation, training and workshops attendance, evidence of coaching, resumes, references, letter of supports, etc.
