Frequently Asked Questions

The National Insurance Program provides these key areas of cover for eligible members and organisations:

  • Personal Accident Insurance
  • Public Liability Insurance
  • Products Liability Insurance
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance
  • Management Liability Insurance

In general, cover applies to members of Table Tennis Australia and affiliated State and Club/Associaiton entities while taking part in sanctioned table tennis activities.

  • The program is not “comprehensive” and is intended to complement any other insurances you hold (e.g. private health, life, income protection).
  • By law, general insurers cannot reimburse any item that attracts a Medicare benefit, including the “Medicare Gap” for services listed on the Medicare Benefits Schedule.
  • It is each individual’s responsibility to make sure they have adequate cover for their own needs.
  • Cover applies to paid members of Table Tennis Australia and affiliated State and Club/Associaiton entities taking part in sanctioned table tennis activities at affiliated State and Club/Associaiton venues.

  • Personal Accident: Provides limited financial assistance if you are injured during sanctioned table tennis activities (e.g. certain non‑Medicare medical costs, loss of income, capital benefits).

  • Public Liability: Protects insured organisations and individuals against legal liability for injury or property damage to third parties arising from negligence.

  • Professional Indemnity: Protects insured individuals (e.g. coaches, officials) against claims alleging negligent acts, errors or omissions in their professional duties.

  • Management Liability: Protects the entity and its directors/officers against a range of internal and external management‑related claims.

  1. Get medical attention
Seek appropriate first aid or medical treatment immediately.

  2. Tell your club/association
Notify your club or association about the injury as soon as possible so it can be recorded as a sanctioned table tennis activity.

  3. Submit a TTA Injury Report (record only)

    • Use our online Injury Reporting function to create an official record of the injury on the TTA system.

    • This is for record‑keeping and to support any insurance claim.

    • This is not an insurance claim and does not lodge a claim with the insurer.

    • Submit an Injury Report >
  4. Lodge your Personal Accident claim with the insurer
To make a Personal Accident claim, you must lodge a claim directly with the insurer within 30 days of the injury:
    • Step 1: Obtain a claim request form from Sportscover Australia at www.sportscover.com/claim-form-request or by calling 1300 134 956.

    • Step 2: Ask your doctor to complete the medical section of the claim form.

    • Step 3: Ask your club President, Treasurer or Secretary to complete the club section (and your employer if you are claiming loss of income).

    • Step 4: Return the completed form to Sportscover Australia by email (asiapac.claims@sportscover.com) or post (Claims Department, Locked Bag 6003, Wheelers Hill VIC 3150).

TTA does not process insurance claims – all claims are assessed and handled by the insurer.

When does insurance coverage apply?

Insurance coverage runs from the timestamp on your membership profile on RevSport until 31 December (universal expiry). We recommend clubs enable online membership renewal so players don't have to wait for a club volunteer to process a paper form.

Am I covered if I haven’t paid my registration fee yet?

No, coverage starts from the timestamp on your membership profile and runs to the end of that calendar year.

Future change note

TTA is moving toward coverage starting from when TTA (the policy holder) receives the payment. This means in the future, cash payments to clubs won't activate coverage until the club passes funds to their State Association, and the State to TTA. That's why we're encouraging all clubs to enable online membership and payments through RevSport portals.

Where am I covered?

Cover applies to paid members of Table Tennis Australia and affiliated State and Club/Associaiton entities taking part in sanctioned table tennis activities at affiliated State and Club/Associaiton venues.
