State Umpire Accreditation – Part 2: Officiating Training

3. Basic Practical Training
Conducted as a 4.5-hour practical umpiring seminar, candidates will be trained in key practical competencies, including:

  • Correct use of the scoresheet.

  • Checking nets and rackets correctly.

  • Proper use of score indication and communication.

  • Appropriate use of hand signals (State-level standard).
  • Understanding of behaviour regulations.

  • Timing a match
  • Basic match procedures (pre-, post- and during under single umpire system).
