Ball Kid Nominations – 2025 Para Table Tennis Nationals

Thank you for your interest in being a Ball Kid at the 2025 Para Table Tennis Nationals!

Key Information:

  • Ball kids must be at least 9 years old and physically able to retrieve balls on court.

  • The role involves retrieving balls within a table tennis court (max. size: 7m x 14m) and returning them to para athletes during matches.

  • Ball kids must wear non-marking sports shoes and no white clothing.

  • Meals will be provided if volunteering over a mealtime. Volunteers must arrange their own transport to and from the venue.

Event Details:

  • Event: 2025 National Table Tennis Championships

  • Para Events: Monday 7 July – Thursday 10 July

  • Venue: Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium (GRISS)

  • Time: Approximately 9:00 AM – 8:30 PM daily

  • This event takes place during the school holidays.

Availability & Roster:

  • Volunteers are asked to be available for at least 3 sessions across the 4 days.

  • Session times:

    • 08:30–12:30

    • 12:30–16:30

    • 16:30–20:30

  • You can nominate for as many sessions as you like. Final rosters will be provided prior to the event.

Did You Know?

  • Over 450 athletes will compete at the Nationals, including around 50 para athletes.

  • Watch world-class players including:

    • Sam von Einem (Class 11): Silver – Rio & Tokyo, Bronze – Paris

    • Qian Yang (Class 10): Gold – Tokyo & Paris

    • Ma Lin (Class 9): Silver – Tokyo, Bronze – Paris

Ball kids must wear their own clothing, including non-marking sports shoes. Please note: no white clothing is permitted.

Training will be provided on the day, so no prior experience is needed.
