Membership for table tennis in Australia is managed nationally through Table Tennis Australia (TTA) and your State and Club using the RevSport system. There are different membership levels (such as Club Play, Club Compete and Comp Plus) and two main ways to pay, which impact how quickly your membership becomes active at State and National levels.
How Table Tennis Membership Works in Australia
All table tennis players in Australia must hold a current membership that covers three levels: Club, State, and National. There are two main ways to pay for and activate your membership, and the method you choose affects how quickly your membership becomes active at State and National levels.
Option 1: Pay Online (Instant Activation)
If your club/association or State uses the RevSport portal, you can register and pay for your membership online using a debit or credit card.
-
Go to your club/association or State's RevSport portal and select Membership.
-
Complete your registration and pay securely online using the PAY NOW option.

-
Your membership is activated instantly at all levels — Club, State, and National.
-
You can immediately enter any sanctioned events, depending on your membership level (for example, Comp Plus is required for TTA Tour events).
Example:
Jordan pays online for a Comp Plus membership through their club’s RevSport site. Their membership activates within seconds, allowing them to register straightaway for a TTA Tour event.
Option 2: Manual Payment (2–6 Week Delay)
Some players pay their club by cash or direct bank deposit instead of online. In this case, payment must move through several administrative steps before reaching Table Tennis Australia (TTA).
-
You pay your club directly by cash or bank deposit.
-
The club holds the funds and reports manual payments by the end of the month to the State Association.
-
The State Association invoices the club for those memberships.
-
On the 15th of the following month, Table Tennis Australia (TTA) invoices each State Association.
-
Once TTA receives the funds, your membership becomes active at State and National levels.
This process can take two to six weeks from when you originally paid your club.
Important:
Event entries are validated at the TTA level. Until your membership is active nationally, you may not be eligible to enter national-level events such as the TTA Tour or National Championships or Open tournaments run by other Clubs or States.
Example:
Taylor pays their club in early March. Their club submits payments by the end of March, the State pays TTA in mid April and their membership is activated then.
Upgrading Your Membership (e.g. to Comp Plus)
If you’ve already joined at a Club Play or Club Compete level but would like to enter national-level events such as TTA Tours or the National Championships, you’ll need to upgrade to a Comp Plus membership.
Option 1: Upgrade Online (Instant Access)
-
Log in to your RevSport account through your club’s portal.
-
Click Account in the top right corner.
-
Scroll down to where your current membership is listed and select Upgrade.
-
Pay securely online by card using the PAY NOW option — your upgrade is instant, and you’ll immediately have access to national-level events (subject to event-specific eligibility).

Option 2: Request a Manual Upgrade (2–6 Week Delay)
-
If you cannot log in to upgrade yourself, you can ask your club to send you an upgrade invoice.
-
You may choose to pay this invoice by card (for instant access once processed in RevSport) or by cash/bank transfer (which will follow the same 2–6 week delay as manual memberships).
-
Your upgraded membership won’t activate nationally until TTA receives payment through the normal monthly process.
Tip:
If you plan to compete in an upcoming national event, always pay or upgrade online to avoid processing delays and to ensure your Comp Plus membership is active in time for entries.
