2026 CLUB CAPABILITY & GROWTH PROGRAM

GUIDELINES & ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

These guidelines outline the funding arrangements, eligible projects, application requirements, assessment process and acquittal obligations for the 2026 Club Capability & Growth Program.

Applicants should read these guidelines before completing the official RevSport application form. All times specified in these guidelines are Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT).

1. Funding Arrangements

Eligible affiliated table tennis clubs and associations may apply for up to $2,000 per application across three investment streams.

TTA may contribute a maximum of 50% of the total eligible project value, capped at $2,000. Applicants must contribute at least 50% through cash and/or in-kind support.

Applicants should request only the funding required for their project. The maximum available contribution should not automatically be treated as the amount to request.

Funding is limited and competitive. TTA may offer partial funding where the available budget does not permit the full requested amount to be awarded.

Where partial funding is offered, the applicant must confirm that the original project and intended outcomes remain achievable, unless an alternative scope is approved by TTA.

2. Investment Streams

Equipment & Signage
Eligible projects include tables, nets, barriers, training equipment, storage solutions, club signage, promotional banners, welcome signage, gazebos and event activation equipment. Maintenance costs, retrospective purchases and equipment intended for individual ownership are ineligible.

Technology
Eligible projects include competition laptops, tablets, display screens, projectors, livestreaming and audio equipment, QR check-in systems, club administration technology and competition management equipment.

RevSport portal fees are also eligible, including additional costs incurred where increased Fun & Fan membership results in a higher RevSport subscription tier. Clubs seeking funding for a tier-related increase must provide evidence of their existing and revised RevSport fees. Only eligible costs incurred after written grant approval may be funded.

General operating costs, such as internet and phone plans, retrospective purchases and devices intended for personal use are ineligible.

Safety & Accessibility
Eligible projects include Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), first aid equipment, protective barriers, safety signage, lighting improvements and accessibility initiatives. Infrastructure and major capital works, routine facility maintenance and retrospective purchases or works are ineligible.

General Exclusions Across All Streams
Infrastructure and major capital works, routine maintenance, general operational expenditure (excluding specifically eligible RevSport portal fees), salaries and wages, retrospective expenditure, equipment for individual ownership and projects unrelated to affiliated club activities.

The examples above are indicative and not exhaustive. Clubs with innovative projects that strengthen participation, club capability or long-term sustainability are encouraged to discuss their proposal with their Member Association before applying.

3. Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must satisfy the following requirements to be considered for funding.

3.1 Club Affiliation and Financial Standing

Applicants must:

  • Be currently affiliated and financial with their relevant Member Association.
  • Have no outstanding debts to TTA or their Member Association.
  • Have satisfactorily acquitted all previous TTA grants, with clubs holding outstanding or unapproved acquittals ineligible for funding until these obligations are resolved.

3.2 Participation Census

Successful applicants will be required to submit their participation census through https://census.tabletennis.org.au/ as part of the acquittal process before 11:59pm AEDT on Sunday 29 November 2026.

Clubs must use their issued access code to submit their participation information. For access code assistance, contact membership@tabletennis.org.au.

Note:
Participation Census submission information can be found on the TTA Participation Census Page.

3.3 Project and Financial Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Propose a project aligned with one of the three eligible investment streams.
  • Contribute at least 50% of the total project value through cash and/or in-kind support.
  • Provide quotations for all proposed project expenditure, including supporting evidence of any eligible RevSport subscription tier increase.
  • Exclude retrospective purchases or other ineligible expenditure.
  • Demonstrate capacity to deliver and acquit the project within the required timeframe.

3.4 Ratings Central Membership Compliance

Clubs using Ratings Central for rated competition activity must comply with TTA's Ratings Central Membership Compliance Requirements 2026.

The following membership requirements apply:

  • All participants recorded in Ratings Central must hold a current TTA membership category appropriate to their level of participation.
  • Participants recorded as NA, unclassified, unmatched or without a recognized membership category must, at minimum, hold Club Play membership.
  • Club Play participants may participate in up to three rated events, including club pennant competitions, uploaded to Ratings Central during 2026.
  • Participants must hold Club Comp membership before participating in a fourth rated event.
  • Participants entering TTA national events must hold the membership category required under the relevant national event eligibility rules.
  • State event eligibility remains subject to relevant Member Association requirements, noting that the three-event Club Play limit continues to apply to rated activity.

Compliance snapshot: Friday 30 October 2026, 11:00am AEDT.

For clubs using Ratings Central for rated competition activity, a club will be considered materially non-compliant where more than 3% of its unique participants recorded in Ratings Central are confirmed as non-compliant with applicable membership requirements.

The percentage will be calculated using TTA's validated reconciliation of unique participant records at the compliance deadline.

Clubs may submit their grant application by 11:59pm AEDT on Sunday 25 October 2026 while resolving outstanding compliance matters.

Applications may be assessed before the 11:00am AEDT compliance snapshot on Friday 30 October 2026, but funding will not be awarded or released while a club remains above the applicable compliance threshold.

The threshold does not apply to clubs operating exclusively in a social or recreational capacity without rated competition activity in Ratings Central.

Data Reconciliation

TTA recognises that duplicate records, unmatched TTA IDs, data-matching issues, system limitations and other legitimate administrative discrepancies may require review.

Such matters must be raised with supporting information before 11:00am AEDT on Friday 30 October 2026. Confirmed data issues will not be treated as membership non-compliance.

Clubs raising reconciliation enquiries with TTA must copy their relevant Member Association into the correspondence. Legitimate matters raised and accepted for review before the deadline will be considered separately and will not automatically count towards the threshold.

Unresolved records without sufficient supporting information may remain included in the compliance assessment.

Member Associations remain the primary service and support point for affiliated clubs, including compliance follow-up and corrective action.

3.5 Project Delivery and Acquittal

Applicants must be able to complete their approved project and submit their final acquittal by 11:59pm AEDT on Sunday 29 November 2026.

All funded purchases must occur after written grant approval and during 2026.

Receipts must be dated in 2026 and relate directly to approved project expenditure.

Applicants will confirm their eligibility and acceptance of these requirements through the official RevSport application form.

4. Application Assessment

Eligible applications will be assessed competitively by TTA, considering the proposed project's alignment with the selected investment stream and its expected benefits.

Assessment will consider:

Project Need:
The identified need or opportunity and its importance to the club or association.

Participation and Club Benefits:
Improvements to participation opportunities, participant experiences, club capability and/or sustainability.

Club Investment and Readiness:
The club's financial and/or in-kind contribution and its capacity to complete the project.

Value for Money:
Whether the proposed expenditure is reasonable and justified by the expected benefits.

Long-Term Outcomes:
How the investment will continue to benefit the club and wider community.

Funding Acknowledgement:
How TTA's contribution will be recognised and the project's outcomes shared.

Assessment will recognise the different purposes of each investment stream, including participation and playing capacity, improved administration and competition delivery, and better safety and accessibility.

Projects are not required to demonstrate direct membership growth where their primary benefit relates to safety, accessibility or club capability.

5. Funding Assessment and Decisions

TTA will assess complete applications through a competitive grants process, considering:

  • Compliance with the published eligibility requirements.
  • Alignment with the relevant investment stream and assessment considerations.
  • Available program funding.
  • Equitable investment across States and Territories, where practicable.

TTA may consult Member Associations to verify applicant for eligibility or application information.

Applications close at 11:59pm AEDT on Sunday 25 October 2026.

Only complete applications submitted by the deadline will be considered.

Applicants will be notified of outcomes during the week commencing Monday 26 October 2026.

Conditional Funding Approval

Funding offers communicated before the 30 October Ratings Central compliance snapshot will remain conditional upon all applicable eligibility requirements being satisfied.

Clubs will have until 11:00am AEDT on Friday 30 October 2026 to resolve identified membership compliance matters or raise legitimate data reconciliation issues for review.

Final funding approval will only be confirmed once the relevant eligibility and compliance requirements have been met.

No grant payments will be released before these requirements are satisfied.

TTA's funding decisions are final.

6. Project Delivery and Grant Acquittal

Approved projects must be completed and acquitted by 11:59pm AEDT on Sunday 29 November 2026.

Successful applicants must submit an acquittal report demonstrating both how funding was spent and what the project was achieved.

Successful applicants must provide:

Project Outcomes:
How the project achieved its intended objectives, including any unexpected outcomes.

All funded purchases must:

  • Occur after written grant approval.
  • Be made during the 2026 calendar year.
  • Relate directly to the approved project.
  • Be supported by receipts dated in 2026.
  • Be included in the completed acquittal submitted by 11:59pm AEDT on Sunday 29 November 2026.

Retrospective expenditure and costs unrelated to the approved project will not be accepted.

For eligible RevSport subscription tier increases, acquittal must also demonstrate the additional amount incurred and its connection to increased Fun & Fan membership.

6.3 Grant Payments

Approved grants will be paid in two instalments:

First 50%:
Following written grant approval and confirmation that all applicable eligibility and compliance requirements are satisfied.

Final 50%:
Following submission and approval of the completed acquittal report.

TTA may request clarification or supporting evidence before approving the acquittal or releasing the final payment.

6.4 Sharing Success

Successful applicants must acknowledge TTA's contribution and promote their completed projects. We encourage successful applicants to share information on the projects on their respective social media pages, tagging TTA’s accounts.

TTA may showcase projects nationally to recognise volunteer contributions, share practical club development approaches, and encourage other clubs to adopt successful initiatives.
