Ratings Central Mid-Year Review and 2026 Membership Model

TTA is undertaking a Ratings Central Mid-Year Review in collaboration with Ratings Central and Member Associations to understand how the 2026 Membership Model is operating across jurisdictions and where further support may strengthen its implementation.

The new Membership Model has seen strong uptake, with Competition Plus and Club Competition memberships tracking ahead of target and encouraging levels of alignment across the sport.

The review is focused on how the model is working in practice, including membership and competition processes, data quality, administrative requirements and opportunities to improve consistency and ease of use.

Reflecting Australian table tennis’s federated governance model, TTA is working with Member Associations on national policy, systems, data and areas requiring a coordinated response, while Member Associations remain the primary support connection for their affiliated clubs.

TTA, Member Associations and Ratings Central are reviewing relevant membership and competition data to identify where additional guidance, clarification or system support may be useful. Where participation records do not align with the current membership structure, the emphasis is on equipping Member Associations with the information needed to work constructively with clubs and strengthen understanding and compliance.

Feedback from Member Associations will also help identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary administrative burden, improve the member and volunteer experience, and ensure national systems continue to support local delivery effectively.

The focus from here is on improving consistency, simplifying administration where possible and strengthening the connection between national systems and local delivery.

Clubs are encouraged to continue raising questions, feedback and local implementation issues through their relevant State or Territory Member Association. Where matters require national policy, data or system clarification, Member Associations can work with TTA and Ratings Central as appropriate.

Learnings from the review will inform future improvements to the Membership Model and support a stronger, more connected participation system across Australian table tennis.
