2024 NATIONAL PARA SQUAD CAPTAINS NAMED

LEI AND VON EINEM NAMED AS CO-CAPTAINS OF THE 2024 NATIONAL PARA SQUAD

Table Tennis Australia (TTA) is pleased to announce Lina Lei and Sam von Einem as the Co-Captains of the National Para Squad for 2024. 

It is the first time that Von Einem has been named as captain, while Lei returns to the role for a third consecutive year.

Following on from their international successes in 2023, it is set to be another big year for the National Para Squad with the 2024 Paralympic Games due to be conducted in Paris, France from the 28th August – 8th September.

The Co-Captains will use their wealth of experience to lead Australia’s National Para Team over the next 12-months.

Lei is excited to be back at the helm once again and is looking forward to continuing to build on the Team’s strong high-performance culture in the lead up to the Games. 

“I'm grateful to be part of such a supportive team as captain. 2024 is an important year for everyone, I hope I can unite and motivate teammates to achieve our common goals.”

Paralympic silver medallist Sam von Einem hopes to lead by example as the team prepares for the Games.

"Proud day to be named a Captain of the Para Table Tennis team.  I look forward to leading the team in 2024 in this Paralympic Year."

TTA National Para Head Coach, Alois Rosario said he is looking forward to working with the athlete leadership team ahead of another major year for the squad.

"I’m excited to have Lina and Sam as the Co-Captains leading us into the Paris Paralympic Games. The experience Lina brings of knowing what it takes to succeed in the highest arena will be invaluable for the rest of the athletes and the team in general both on and off the court. Sam who has stepped up this year is a leader by his example of complete focus on achieving his Paralympic and life goals. He takes ownership of his destiny with his training and on the competition court and always gives his utmost to the team”.
