2025 WORLD UNIVERSITY GAMES - EOI

Table Tennis Australia is seeking expressions of interest from its membership base to gauge the possibility of sending a team to the World University Games in 2025.
The event will be held from 16-27 July, 2025 in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany. The Table Tennis events are being held 17-24 July, 2025 in Essen.
Please see below for details. This is an event which is to be 100% funded by the participants (students can check with their university if there are opportunties for financial assistance). If interested, please send your expression of interest to Aaron Tuckfield, General Manager - Operations and Community via email: aaron@tabletennis.org.au by no later than 5pm Friday November 1st, 2024.
Eligibility
- You must be a member of an affiliated TTA club/association.
- An Australian citizen (dual citizenship is fine).
- Currently enrolled in a diploma or higher at an Australian University. Cannot have defeerred or graduated up to 12 months prior to the event.
- Minimum age of 18 years old, maximum age of 25 years old.
Team Size
- Max 5 entries in singles
- Max 2 pair in doubles
- Max 2 pairs in mixed doubles
- Min 3 max 5 for teams
- 1 official
* If TTA receives more than the maximum number permitted to make up a team, it will establish selection criteria in conjunction with UniSport Australia.
Entry, nominations & timelines
- TTA nominates athletes and coaches to UniSport Australia
- Team event entry deadline 2 Jan, pay a deposit (2.000 EUR/team) to be met by the athletes
- UniSport Australia submits quantitative entries 4 months before event
- UniSport Australia needs all nominations 8 weeks before event
- Individual entries due 1 month before event
Cost
- Fully self-funded for athletes & officials
- $4.000 without a flight
Operations
- Travel arrangements for everyone in AUS done by UniSport AUS
- Have to be in bubble 2 days before comp start
- Uniforms are provided
