Australian Para Athletes Qualify for 2026 World Championships

Table Tennis Australia is pleased to announce the Australian Para athletes who have qualified for the 2026 World Para Table Tennis Championships, set to take place in Pattaya, Thailand, from 13–19 November. 

A strong contingent of athletes from across the National Para Squad and National Para Development Squad will represent Australia on the world stage, with a blend of experienced international campaigners and emerging talent earning their place at one of the sport’s biggest events. 

Leading the Australian team are 2026 International Gold Medallists Sam von Einem (Class 11), Qian Yang (Class 10), Lina Lei (Class 9) and Lin Ma (Class 9). 

They will be joined by Nathan Pellissier (Class 8) and Danni Di Toro (Class 4), Jodi Elkington Jones (Class 7), Lenny Properjohn (Class 6), Jimmy Huo (Class 5), Jessy Chen (Class 3), Evgeny John Savinov (Class 1), and Gemma Buchholz (Class 2). 

The Australian Para Team will be supported throughout the Championships by an experienced group of staff, led by Team Manager and Head Coach Maggie Meng. Para Hub Team Coaches An Phan, Mateo Dvorani and Jacqui Budiarto will also travel with the team, alongside Team Physio Maddie Thompson, Performance Analyst Sam Wells and Team Carers Luke Roberts and Rebecca Basnet. 

Table Tennis Australia Para Program Lead Sue Stevenson expressed her delight in the number of qualified athletes, reflecting the strength and depth continuing to develop within Australian Para table tennis. 

Stevenson said: “The opportunity to compete at a World Championships is incredibly important for our athletes, and we are excited to see this group take on the best players in the world in Pattaya. We have had an excellent year so far, and we can’t wait to test ourselves in one of the biggest tournaments in Para table tennis. 

The 2026 World Para Table Tennis Championships will be held in Pattaya, Thailand, from 13–19 November.
