The stage is set for Australia’s pinnacle table tennis event, with the 2025 Table Tennis Australia National Championships taking place from 6th to 13th July at the Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium.

This prestigious tournament will bring together some of the very best of Australia’s talent—national squad members, Paralympians, and the next generation of rising stars—for an action-packed week of singles, doubles, and team competitions.

A highlight of the week includes Hall of Fame presentations honouring some of the sport’s most influential contributors.

  • Sunday 6 July at 11:00am, Angelo Tabone will be posthumously inducted under the “Referees & Umpires” Category.
  • Tuesday 8 July at 5:30pm, dual inductees Melissa Tapper – Athlete (Para) and Alois Rosario (Coach) will receive the sport’s highest recognition.
  • A separate Hall of Fame event will be held at a later date to celebrate the legacy of Olympic great Jian Fang Lay – Athlete (Open).

The presentations will be held in the presentation area, at the Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium. It’s a rare opportunity to witness the recognition of true legends of Table Tennis, share in their stories and be inspired by their legacy and Table Tennis Australia invites all of the TTA community to join in the celebrations.

Nicole Adamson, CEO of Table Tennis Australia, said the event is a true showcase of the sport’s depth and passion.

“The National Championships are the pinnacle of Australian table tennis. It’s where our Paralympians, rising juniors, and senior squad members come together to compete, inspire and elevate our sport. We’re delighted to bring this event to Gippsland and thank our partners, especially the Victorian Government and Latrobe City Council, for making it possible.”

“While not all our National Squad members will be there due to  the WTT US Smash being held in the same week, we are so proud to have Nicholas Lum, Finn Luu, Hwan Bae, Aditya Sareen, Connie Psihogios, Yangzi Liu and Min Hyung Jee, wearing the green and gold, and representing Australia on the international stage and we wish them the best of luck.”

“With the growth and development of Table Tennis in Australia, we know the level of competition will be elite and the National Championships will really showcase the depth of the talent we have across the nation,” said Ms Adamson.

Holding a pinnacle event like the National Championships in the heart of regional Victoria, marks a significant opportunity to showcase world-class sport in a thriving community.

While not everyone will be able to attend the National Championships, thanks to live streaming partner SportVot, fans across the country can tune in to selected matches being broadcast on the Table Tennis Australia YouTube channel: Table Tennis Australia - YouTube, ensuring no one misses the thrills, upsets, and gold medal moments.
Entry is free and all are welcome to witness the intensity, precision, and passion of the sport like never before. Whether you're a fan, a future champion, or simply curious, don’t miss your chance to see Australia’s best in action.

The National Championships are proudly supported by the Victorian Government and Latrobe City Council, with Tibhar serving as the official ball sponsor for the event.
