Benjamin Gould Qualifies for Youth Olympic Games
Published Wed 11 Jul 2018
Queensland’s Benjamin Gould has earned a coveted place at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games to be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina from 6-18 October 2018. Gould earned his position after rocketing up the ITTF Under 18 World Rankings; in the July edition published overnight he moves to a career high of 23. The rapid increase comes as a direct result of winning the Junior Boy’s Singles title at the recent ITTF-Oceania Championships.
Winning a place at the Youth Olympic Games is a just reward for many years of hard work, travelling interstate and overseas to compete and noteworthy performances both domestically and internationally. Substantial ongoing family support has also played a significant role in Gould’s continued development. TTA has supported Gould through his involvement in National Squads and National Teams over many years.
Congratulations Benjamin - best of luck in Buenos Aires and do yourself, your family and Australia proud.
