Claire Montgomery Joins TTA
Published Thu 01 Sep 2022
TTA is pleased to announce that Claire Montgomery will join the TTA staff as National Participation & Development Coordinator. Claire’s employment has arisen following Egon Loh moving on from TTA last month.
Claire is a lifetime table tennis person as a player, coach and administrator. Her most recent involvement has been working for Table Tennis Victoria (TTV) as Events & Clubs Officer. In the past Claire has served on both the TTA and TTV Boards. Claire is a TTA Level 2 accredited coach, ITTF Level 1 accredited coach as well as have extensive studies and experience in Computer Engineering, Sports Law, and Event Management.
TTA CEO Scott Houston commented, “I am thrilled that Claire has taken up the opportunity to work with TTA. Claire has a very strong skills set in the participation, development and events space and no doubt she will be an asset to the Australian table tennis community.
“TTA looks forward to improving and increasing the services, programs and assistance we can provide to States/Territories and clubs/associations in the participation and development space, which Claire will play an important role in.”
Claire commented, “I’m excited to be joining TTA and the opportunity to make my eclectic skillset available to the wider table tennis community. Those who know me know that my passion is to help our beloved sport to transition into modern and streamlined practices to ensure the longevity of our clubs, associations, and States/Territories. And so that our volunteers can spend more time on doing what they love, rather than being bogged down and burnt out by the admin of a club.”
TTA and TTV have agreed that Claire will split her time across both organisations for the remainder of 2022, before she moves to TTA in a full-time capacity from 2023 onwards.
Congratulations and welcome aboard Claire.
