Danni Di Toro sets sights on Montenegro
Published Tue 28 Apr 2026
Eight-time Australian Paralympian Danni Di Toro is set to compete in the 2026 ITTF World Para Challenger Podgorica event in Montenegro from Wednesday, 29th April.
Di Toro will return to the Montenegrin capital of Podgorica as she seeks to retain her title from 2025, where she advanced throughout the whole tournament whilst only dropping two sets. In the final, she defeated Spain's Cristina Rubio in straight sets, to bring the title back to Australia.
Earlier this year, Di Toro won bronze at the ITTF World Para Future Gold Coast event, and Danni has been drawn into a group with Kazahkstan's Alexandra Stepanova and India's Vijaya Deepika Gangapatnam in the opening stage of the tournament.
On returning to Montenegro, Danni said: "I really enjoy coming here, it's a really good event. The people are so friendly and having the venue in the same location as the hotel makes it really easy. It's a year where everyone is on the road trying to get ranking points for the World Championships so it's a really competitive field, including the gold medalist from Paris and a lot of top 10 players. I want to get some wins against those players, which would be a first for me. It's a really great opportunity for me to see where I'm at against the best players in the world."
To keep up to date with the draw and Danni's progress throughout the tournament, which will take place from April 29 to May 2, you can visit the ITTF Website here.
Good luck, Danni, we're all rooting for you!
