Draws Released for 2018 Nittaku-DHS National Senior and Youth Championships
Published Tue 03 Jul 2018
The draws have been released for the 2018 Nittaku-DHS National Senior and Youth Championships. With six days of red hot action from Monday 9 July to Saturday 14 July at Mornington Peninsula Table Tennis Association nearly upon us, plenty of epic battles are set to take place as gold medals are decided and history is made.
TTA have implemented multiple changes to the event this year, such as:
- More medals will be decided on more days: Medals will be decided on four out of six days (Mixed Doubles on Tuesday, Doubles on Wednesday, Teams on Thursday and Singles on Saturday) and all medal matches on week days will be played in the evening, thereby giving the best chance for the biggest audiences to watch the action unfold.
- Prize money has increased to $11,400, setting a new record. Note there will also be bronze medal playoff matches, emulating the Olympic Games and Commonwealth Games.
- Round Robin matches in all Singles events will be best of 7 games to provide additional competitions opportunities.
- The competition has reduced in length to start on Monday evening and conclude by Saturday afternoon. The same number of events are still scheduled however.
One final announcement is coming soon – stay tuned as this will be a game-changer for our premier event!
