Four Australian Officials Selected for the 2022 Commonwealth Games
Published Fri 04 Feb 2022
TTA is pleased to announce that four Australian Officials have been selected to officiate at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, to be held in Birmingham, England from 28 July to 8 August.
The selected Officials and their roles are:
- Deputy Referee: Joseph Fung (NSW)
- Racket Controller: Fanny Ho (VIC)
- Umpires: Stephen Gillespie (NSW), Marie Pinkewich (NSW)
TTA CEO Scott Houston was pleased with the announcement, commenting “Australian Officials have a long and proud history of undertaking key officiating roles at international benchmark events and the appointments of Joseph, Fanny, Stephen and Marie adds the next chapter to this.
“Officiating is one of the best ways to be involved with our great game. From a local level through to international events, there is a clear officiating pathway available. For anyone who is thinking about taking up officiating, I recommend that they don’t hesitate to get involved”.
Congratulations Joseph, Fanny, Stephen and Marie on your appointments, no doubt you will represent Australia with distinction once again.
NOTE: Marie Pinkewich (TTA Board Member and TTA Umpires & Referees Committee Member) has a declared conflict of interest in relation to her appointment. This conflict of interest was handled in accordance with the TTA Conflict of Interest Policy.
