Heming Hu and Jian Fang Lay Win ITTF-Oceania Cup
Published Mon 27 May 2019
Heming Hu and Jian Fang Lay have defended their ITTF-Oceania Cup crowns this afternoon in Bora Bora, French Polynesia.
In the finals, Hu overcame the Canberra Cannon, Rohan Dhooria in a tough 6-game encounter, while Lay triumphed over rising star Parleen Kaur in straight games. Hu and Lay claim a $6,000 winners cheque each and book their ticket to the Men's World Cup and Women's World Cup. Not to be outdone, Dhooria and Kaur both take home $4,000 in prize money. Great job from National Coach John Murphy on leading the team with distinction as well.
Special thanks to Commonwealth Games Australia for providing the funding to enable our National Team to compete at the event.
Thank you also to Fédération Tahitienne de Tennis de Table for providing generous hospitality throughout.
