Table Tennis Australia (TTA) is proud to announce that Australia will host its first-ever international World Para Circuit table tennis event, with the ITTF World Para Future Event set to take place on the Gold Coast 16 -18 February 2026.

This milestone represents a major step forward for Para table tennis in Australia and highlights TTA’s world-class Para Program, which continues to set new standards for inclusion, excellence, and athlete development.

The ITTF World Para Future Event is part of the International Table Tennis Federation’s global series designed to provide emerging Para athletes with essential international competition experience. These events serve as a crucial stepping stone between domestic and elite-level international competition, helping to develop future Paralympic and World Championship athletes.

For Table Tennis Australia, hosting this event underscores the nation’s growing reputation as a leader in high-performance and inclusive sport. The Gold Coast will welcome developing Para athletes from around the world, showcasing the region’s commitment to accessibility, innovation, and community engagement.

A proud moment for Australian Table Tennis, Nicole Adamson, Chief Executive Officer of Table Tennis Australia, said, “Hosting an ITTF World Para Future Event in Australia is a landmark moment for our sport. It recognises the strength and growth of our Para Program and the dedication of our athletes, coaches, and support network. We cannot wait to welcome the world to Australia in 2026.”

ITTF Para Table Tennis Events & Classification Manager, Pablo Perez, echoed these sentiments, “We are delighted to bring an ITTF World Para Future Event to Australia for the first time. Renowned for its world-class sporting facilities and passion for major events, the Gold Coast continues to cement its reputation as a premier destination for international sport. The city’s accessibility, infrastructure, and welcoming community make it the perfect home for the 2026 event, and an important contributor in the lead up 2032 Paralympic Games.

“The Gold Coast is proud to host this historic international Para event, a first for Australia, said Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate.

“Our city has a long and proud tradition of supporting inclusive sport, and we look forward to welcoming athletes, officials, and supporters from across the globe. Events like this not only showcase athletic excellence but also strengthen our city’s reputation as a place where everyone can achieve their sporting dreams.”

The event is proudly supported by Experience Gold Coast, the city’s major events and destination marketing organisation. Their partnership reinforces the Gold Coast’s ongoing commitment to hosting inclusive, world-class sporting events that deliver social and economic benefits to the region.

TTA’s Paralympic Program is recognised globally for its athlete-focused development pathway, integrating elite coaching, sports science, and holistic support services. Australia’s Para athletes continue to excel on the world stage, including strong performances at the Paralympic Games, Oceania Championships, and World Para Table Tennis Championships.
