National Junior Team Captains Announced
Published Thu 09 Nov 2017
Table Tennis Australia have decided to trial a new concept this year at the World Junior Championships whereby they nominate playing captains for each of the two teams.
The concept is to identify an athlete from each team who has shown great leadership in the way they conduct themselves both on and off the table. Being named as a National Junior Team Captain is a great honour and privilege and as such, it is also a way of recognising outstanding performance by an individual over many years of competing in the Junior ranks both in Australia and overseas.
The two players selected as the year's inaugural playing captains for the upcoming World Junior Championships are:
Holly Nicolas - U18 Girls Team Captain
Rohan Dhooria - U18 Boys Team Captain
Holly and Rohan both have extensive international playing experience including at the World Junior Championship level. TTA are confident that they will both have plenty to offer in the way of sharing their knowledge and experience with their fellow team members and coaches which will help to make the team as cohesive and successful as possible.
Congratulations Holly and Rohan.
