Next Up: TTA National Hopes Tour Queensland

Following the first two stops of Table Tennis Australia's 2026/27 National Hopes Tour, it's all to play for at our third event, as the tour stops at the South Pine Indoor Sports Centre, Brendale, Queensland.

With two very successful editions of the Tour taking place in South Australia and Victoria, former Olympian, Paralympian and TTA's AIS Gen32 Scholarship Coach Melissa Tapper will once more lead the third event of the 2026/27 schedule from 21-25 September in Queensland. 

After the first two events, it is Chengning Yang who leads the Hopes Boys Standings, whilst Grace Xiaoxi Lu sits on top of the Hopes Girls Rankings.  

A reminder that a spot at a National Hopes Tour delivers a huge range of benefits for Australia's younger table tennis players, with Tours including a four-day training camp, followed by a fifth and final day of the tour, which includes the Hopes Challenge competition where Hopes Points can be earned. 

Upon the conclusion of the 2026/27 schedule, the top 15 players from the tour will garner a range of benefits, with first place securing automatic selection to the Australian Hopes Team for ITTF-Oceania Hopes Week 2027. The top three will gain entry to the Australian Hopes Squad (for multiple international opportunities), free Entry to the National DTE Program and free entry to one 2027/28 TTA Hopes Tour & Pathway Camp, whilst the top four will gain eligibility for TTA’s WTT Event Program. Athletes who finish in the top eight will be eligible for Letters of Support for academic scholarships, whilst all in the top 15 will receive a discount for 2027/28 Hopes Camps.

With the Hopes Points Tally starting to take shape, there is still plenty to play for across the remainder of the Tour. The upcoming TTA National Hopes Tour Queensland event from 21–25 September will be a major opportunity for athletes to earn important points and strengthen their push towards Australian Hopes Team selection. We’re excited to see the next chapter of the TTA Hopes Tour unfold.”
