Ping. Pong. Play: 2027 Term 1 Grant Applications now open!
Published Mon 26 Oct 2026
Schools across Australia are invited to bring the fun of table tennis to their students through Table Tennis Australia’s growing Ping.Pong.Play program, with Sporting Schools grant applications for Term 1 2027 now open through the Australian Sports Commission’s website.
Term 1 grant applications close on November 13, so now is the perfect time to get involved! Schools are encouraged to register their interest early and discover how Ping.Pong.Play can bring engaging, inclusive and curriculum-aligned physical activity into their classrooms. To read more about Ping.Pong.Play, you can visit the ASC's website here.
For more information about the program and how your school can participate, complete our expression of interest form or contact sportingschools@tabletennis.org.au.
Designed to make physical activity fun, accessible and inclusive, Ping.Pong.Playprovides an exciting opportunity for schools to introduce students to table tennis in a welcoming environment where everyone can participate, learn and grow.
Fully aligned with the Australian Curriculum, the program uses fun and adaptable activities to help students develop their skills, build confidence and connect with their peers. With minimal equipment required and flexible formats to suit a wide range of abilities, table tennis is an ideal way to get more students moving and enjoying physical activity.
Teachers and facilitators are supported by a suite of lesson plans, digital resources and classroom tools developed in partnership with Active Education Australia and experienced coaches.
At the heart of Ping.Pong.Play are three key principles:
Fun First – Activities are designed to maximise enjoyment, energy and engagement, encouraging students to give it a go and focus on participation rather than performance.
Inclusivity Always – Lessons can be adapted for students of all abilities through para-friendly activities, progressive skill development and small-sided games that give everyone the opportunity to take part.
Curriculum Alignment – Every activity and resource is mapped to the Australian Curriculum, supporting learning outcomes in teamwork, communication, leadership and reflection.
Beyond developing sporting skills, Ping.Pong.Play creates valuable opportunities for social connection. Through doubles play and collaborative games, students can build friendships, develop confidence and strengthen their sense of belonging in a supportive environment.
Best of all, table tennis is a lifelong sport that students can continue enjoying well beyond the classroom, whether at local clubs, universities, workplaces or community facilities.
Give your students the opportunity to discover a sport for everyone. By bringing Ping.Pong.Play to your school in Term 1 2027, you can help students build confidence, develop new skills and experience the joy of being active together.
