Table Tennis Australia Hosts 2026 Annual General Meeting
Published Wed 13 May 2026
Table Tennis Australia (TTA) hosted its 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday, May 9, at the Mantra, Melbourne Airport.
The AGM included representatives from all eight of our Member Associations, TTA Directors, some TTA Life Members, TTA Staff, and invited guests.
Throughout the AGM, the TTA President and CEO presented the Annual report including the audited financial statements and the finance presentation. Changes were made to the TTA Constitution to ensure the constitution is aligned with the Australian Sports Commission Sports Governance Standards, resulting in an Elected Director position becoming an Appointed Director position. TTA will advertise the Appointed Director position for those interested in nominating in the coming weeks.
Samuel Miller was re-elected to the Board, and we congratulate and welcome Lydia Liu who was newly elected to the Board. We thank those who nominated for the elections, we appreciate your time and effort in nominating.
During the meeting Graeme Ireland was inducted as a TTA Life Member by TTA in 2021. Graeme has also served as the ITTF Technical Commissioner, chaired the TTV Umpires League, and refereed at premier international levels, including the Olympic Games and the World Championships.
The 2026 AGM saw the conclusion of Graham Symons' tenure as President of TTA, a position he has held since 2020. Graham’s contribution to Table Tennis in Australia has been far-reaching, playing an important role in the recovery of TTA from 2017 to 2020. Graham has had a lifetime of involvement in Table Tennis, and whilst this marks the end of his tenure as TTA president, Graham’s voice and legacy will continue to flow throughout the table tennis landscape. The TTA Board will meet later this week to elect the President and Vice President.
Following the AGM, representatives of the 8 Member Associations participated in a Forum facilitated by the Australian Sports Commission. The Forum provided for meaningful dialogue, collaboration and discussion on key topics impacting the sport.
TTA Chief Executive Officer, Nicole Adamson, added: “The AGM is always an important milestone on the TTA calendar. It allows representatives of all of our Member Associations to be together in one room, and we are able to discuss so many important matters face-to-face. I’d like to congratulate our new board member Lydia along with Sam who was re-elected, and Graeme Ireland who has become a Life Member. I also want to recognise the invaluable service of Graham Symons, who leaves his position as TTA president. I have been extremely fortunate to have Graham as a guide and steady source of support, and I sincerely thank him for his service to the sport over many years. In the remainder of 2026 and beyond, we look forward to continuing to deliver on the Table Tennis In Australia Strategy, as we implement objectives to drive the sport forward.”
