Table Tennis Australia Announces Inaugural Coach Development Panel
Published Fri 27 Feb 2026
Table Tennis Australia (TTA) is proud to announce the formation of its inaugural Coach Development Panel, a national initiative designed to strengthen athlete pathways by investing directly in coach capability and collaboration.
The panel was established following a strong national Expression of Interest process, which attracted 25 applicants from across Australia.
Due to the high quality of submissions and the clear appetite for coach development, TTA expanded its original panel size from five to six coaches to eight coaches, reflecting the depth of talent and commitment within the Australian coaching community.
The Coach Development Panel forms part of TTA’s commitment to building a more unified, athlete-centred and coach-supported national system. Through monthly online sessions facilitated by the TTA National Coaches and Coach Development Manager Alex Jago, panel members will engage in shared learning, mentoring, and collaborative discussions focused on strengthening the national athlete development pathway.
The group is also expected to come together in person during the TTA Hopes Tour in Traralgon (13–17 April), providing an opportunity to connect and apply learning in a practical performance environment.
TTA CEO, Nicole Adamson, said the response to the initiative demonstrated the momentum building within Australian coaching. “The level of interest in this panel highlights the strength and ambition of our coaching community. When we invest in coaches, we invest in athletes. Supporting coaches to learn, connect and align nationally will have a lasting impact on the future of Australian table tennis.”
The Coach Development Panel is not a tour selection mechanism, but rather a dedicated space to elevate coaching standards, build shared language, and strengthen collaboration across the national pathway.
