Table Tennis Australia (TTA) is pleased to announce the outcome of its recent Board meeting elections, with Steve Knapp appointed as President and William Henzell as Vice President.

On his appointment as TTA president, Knapp expressed his delight, stating: “I am honoured to have been elected President of Table Tennis Australia and look forward to working with our State and Territory Associations, athletes, coaches and volunteers as we continue seeking excellence across all areas of our sport.

I would like to acknowledge and thank Graham Symons for his leadership and contribution as outgoing President. We are fortunate to have a talented and highly motivated executive team, and I am confident we can build a more unified vision for the future of table tennis in Australia and strengthen our sport at every level, including clubs, schools and grass roots.

Following these appointments, the TTA Board now comprises:

  • Steve Knapp

  • William Henzell

  • Sarah Sandley

  • Lydia Liu

  • Sam Miller

  • Clare Gretch

Nicole Adamson, CEO of Table Tennis Australia, added: “I am thrilled to see Steve and William step into these critical leadership positions on the TTA Board. Steve brings extensive experience in governance, having been on the TTA Board as the Vice President for a number of years. His passion for the sport of table tennis, strong business experience, and commitment to strengthening the system will be invaluable as we continue to grow table tennis nationally.

William Henzell is one of Australia’s most accomplished table tennis athletes and a highly respected figure within our sport. William is an Olympian, Commonwealth Games medallist, and long-standing contributor to table tennis in Australia. Coupled with his impressive corporate career, William offers a unique and deeply informed perspective that will greatly benefit the Board and the wider table tennis community.

Together, Steve and William represent a strong leadership team that combines governance expertise, high-performance insight, and a shared vision for the future of our sport, and I look forward to working closely with them.

TTA also notes that one Appointed Director position remains vacant. This role will be advertised in the near future.
