TTA announces team for 2027 ITTF-Oceania Cup
Published Wed 04 Nov 2026
Table Tennis Australia (TTA) is pleased to announce the selection of four Australian athletes for the 2027 ITTF-Oceania Cup, following invitations allocated to Australia by ITTF-Oceania.
Australia received two positions in both the Men’s Singles and Women’s Singles events, with the TTA Selection Panel determining that selections would be made in accordance with its selection philosophy of prioritising the top two Australian athletes on the respective World Rankings at the time of the ITTF-Oceania invitation.
Based on the ITTF World Rankings for Week 44, dated 26 October 2026, the following athletes have been selected:
Women’s Singles
-
Yangzi Liu – World No. 42
-
Connie Psihogios – World No. 63
Men’s Singles
-
Finn Luu – World No. 46
-
Nicholas Lum – World No. 54
The selections recognise the athletes’ positions among Australia’s highest-ranked players internationally and provide an opportunity to represent the country at one of Oceania’s premier table tennis competitions.
The 2027 ITTF-Oceania Cup will be held on 30–31 January 2027 at Campbelltown City Table Tennis – HEATT, at the Steve Woodcock Sports Centre in Adelaide, South Australia. The continental event will bring together eight of the region’s top male and eight female players, competing for Oceania honours and the opportunity to qualify for the 2027 ITTF World Cup. The competition will showcase the best table tennis talent from across the region, with athletes also competing for valuable world ranking points and prize money.
TTA congratulates Yangzi, Connie, Finn and Nicholas on their selection and looks forward to seeing them represent Australia at the 2027 ITTF-Oceania Cup.
