Table Tennis Australia Confirms Field for 2026 Youth Olympic Games Qualification Trial

Table Tennis Australia (TTA) can confirm the 16 athletes who will contest the 2026 Youth Olympic Games Qualification Trial, as they compete for the opportunity to earn a nomination for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal.
The Qualification Trial will take place on Friday 21 and Saturday 22 August 2026 at the South Pine Indoor Sports Centre in Brendale, Queensland, where eight male and eight female athletes will compete in a round-robin format to determine Australia's nominees.
The athletes qualified for the trial after reaching the semi-finals of the 2026 TTA Tour NSW or through their position on the June Under 17 National Ranking List, while also meeting the event's eligibility requirements.

The Qualification Trial will be played as a single round robin competition in both the boys' and girls' events, with all matches contested as the best of five games.
At the conclusion of the event, the highest-finishing athlete in each gender will receive Table Tennis Australia's nomination for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games. Final selection to the Australian Team remains the responsibility of the Australian Olympic Committee and will be determined in accordance with its published selection criteria.
To be eligible for the Qualification Trial, athletes were required to be Australian citizens, hold a current TTA Comp Plus membership, be born on or after 1 January 2009, and have competed in at least one International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF)-sanctioned event between 25 October 2025 and 25 June 2026.
The 2026 Youth Olympic Games will be held in Dakar, Senegal, from 31 October to 13 November 2026, with the table tennis competition taking place from 31 October to 5 November.
Australian Olympian/Paralympian, Commonwealth Games medallist and current AIS Gen32 Scholarship Coach Melissa Tapper will serve as Australia's table tennis coach at the Games, providing invaluable experience and leadership to the nation's next generation of international athletes.
