TTA hosts 2026 National Para Development Camp
Published Tue 08 Sep 2026
Table Tennis Australia were delighted to host a National Para Development Camp at The Hangar, Essendon Football Club, from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 September.
The camp provided invited pre-emerging athletes and members of the National Para Development Squad from across Australia with an opportunity to train within the national program environment under the direction of National Para Head Coach, Maggie Meng.
The camp was supported by the National Para Athlete & Coach Development Manager, Alois Rosario, four State Para Hub Coaches (Mateo Dvorani, Jenny Langridge, An Phan and Tian Quach) and the program’s specialist support team. The camp provided an important opportunity for athletes to further develop their skills, experience the expectations of the national program and receive feedback from the broader coaching and performance team.
Following the completion of the camp, the 2027 National Para Development Squad will be considered by the National Selection Panel.
Sue Stevenson, General Manager of TTA's Paralympic Program, hailed the impact of the camp, stating: "As was the case with our National Wheelchair Camp in August, it's so important for us as the Para Program to have so many of our athletes and coaches in the same room for a few days. We not only get to spend important time at the table, we are able to build up the cameraderie and team spirit that is so important throughout our sport. We were really impressed by the ability of those at the camp, which has given us food for thought as we consider our 2027 National Para Development Squad."
