TTA Junior Training Camp - REGISTER NOW

TTA will be holding a State/Territory Junior Training Camp later this month. TTA has been liaising with State/Territory Associations to nominate players in the first instance, and we are now pleased to announce that we can open the invitation to a broader group. As such, any interested junior players are recommended to put their name forward for consideration.

Full details of the camp are:

INTENTION

To allow State/Territory level players to:

  1. Be exposed to National level training.
  2. Train together with other similar level players under the guidance of National coaches.
  3. Enable players to know what to expect should they progress to the TTA National Squad in the future.
  4. Provide opportunities for State/Territory coach development.

TARGETTED PLAYERS

Junior players who have represented their State/Territory, but are not yet part of the TTA National Squad.

NOTE: TTA will endeavour to have selected National Squad Members available to act as training partners.

CAMP DATES

Monday 20 January to Friday 24 January 2020. 2 sessions per day – 10 sessions total.

CAMP VENUE

Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre – 30 Aughtie Drive, Albert Park, Victoria, 3206.

COST

$100 per player TTA Training Camp fee. Note that all costs associated with travel, accommodation and food are at the expense of the individual players.

COACHES

The TTA Training Camp will be hosted by TTA National Coach – Performance Pathway, Simon Gerada, and TTA National Head Coach, John Murphy.

The timeline and process for players to be invited to the TTA Training Camp is:

  • Please email Simon Gerada at simon@tabletennis.org.au and John Murphy at john@tabletennis.org.au to notify of your intention to join the camp. NOTE: by nominating it will be assumed that you are willing to pay the $100 Training Camp fee, and cover all your own travel, accommodation and food expenses.
  • Deadline for nominating players is this Sunday 12 January 2020.
  • Successful applicants will be notified by no later than Monday 13 January 2020.

TTA would like to acknowledge that Table Tennis Victoria have generously provided the venue for the training camp and we are appreciative of this. 

MELBOURNE OPEN

The 2020 Melbourne Open will be played on 26-27 January 2020 at LOOPS Table Tennis - 618 Somerville Road, Sunshine West, Victoria, 3020. This provides a strong competition opportunity if players wish to stay on after the training camp. Entry forms can be viewed by clicking here.
