TTA launches 2021 Equipment and Facilities Grant Program
Published Mon 12 Apr 2021
Table Tennis Australia is pleased to launch the 2021 Equipment and Facilities Grant Program. The Program provides an opportunity for affiliated clubs/associations throughout Australia to purchase new equipment; or assist with the upgrade/improvement of local table tennis facilities.
Renmark Table Tennis Association in South Australia were a recipient of the grant last year and used it to get new uniforms for all their players. It completed the country club’s identity.
“We had been playing in a big old hall that had been marked for tear down but we got a council grant to get the floors fixed and after we did that there was just one thing missing,” said Renmark’s President Dennis Robinson.
“The Equipment and Facilities Grant Program allowed us to get new uniforms which was the final piece of the puzzle.”
The new uniforms solidified the association’s identity and made Renmark recognisable to the wider community.
“Travelling away to competitions people will recognise us from the Renmark Table Tennis Association logo on our shirts and ask do you know this person, because it turned out they knew someone from the club,” Robinson said.
“The uniforms have helped us connect to the wider community because people are recognising the logo and the players from the club.”
Robinson said that applying for the grant is straightforward but encourages clubs to think about the main thing they want to achieve and the desired outcomes.
