TTA Releases May 2026 National Rankings
Published Wed 03 Jun 2026
The Table Tennis Australia (TTA) National Selection Panel is pleased to announce the release of the National Rankings List for May 2026, highlighting the performances of athletes across all categories. This fifth update of 2026 continues the implementation of the new National Rankings System, ensuring a transparent and consistent approach to ranking Australia’s top table tennis talent.
The Open, Youth and Junior National Rankings categories have been released. It’s fantastic to see so many dedicated players represented across our lists, reflecting the depth and strength of participation within the Australian table tennis community.
The fifth rankings of 2026 once more recognise the achievements of our athletes, showcasing commitment and progress from emerging players through to our most experienced competitors.
Results from the 2026 TTWA Open (Senior and Junior), WTT Youth Contender Mississauga, WTT Youth Contender Bangkok, WTT Youth Star Contender Bangkok, 2026 TTNSW Veterans, WTT Youth Contender 2026 San Francisco II and TTA Tour New South Wales are among the tournaments which impacted the rankings upon May's conclusion.
Nicholas Lum has risen from third place to top spot in the Men's rankings, following a successful month, which included victory in the Open Men's Singles at TTA Tour New South Wales, whilst Yangzi Liu continues to sit in the number one spot of the Women's rankings, but victory at TTA Tour New South Wales saw Yitian Yin move up to second place in the Women's Rankings. Other notable movements include Stephen Liu moving up eight spots to seventh place in the U19 Boys' rankings, and Oscar Pan moving up to second place in the U15 Boys' rankings.
Rob Gomm, General Manager of TTA’s Olympic Program, added: "It was fantastic to see such a high level of talent on display over the course of May, including at our TTA Tour New South Wales with athletes giving it their all in the excellent facilities at Goulburn's Veolia Arena. We also had pleasing results internationally, including medals in the WTT Bangkok Youth Contender, showing the importance of our youth pathways at Table Tennis Australia."
TTA congratulates all athletes for their effort, dedication, and outstanding performances. These rankings not only celebrate individual success but also play an important role in selection considerations for future national and international events.
