Table Tennis Australia serves up the 2026 National Veterans Championships in Albury

Table Tennis Australia (TTA) is set to bring a fast-paced week of rallies, spin and sharp competition to Albury, with the city announced as host of the 2026 National Veterans Championships from 17–24 October at the Lauren Jackson Sports Centre.

One of the biggest and most anticipated fixtures on the TTA calendar, the Championships will draw around 600 athletes from across Australia, aged 30 to 85+. Across eight days of competition, players experience the perfect blend of fierce on-table intensity and unmatched camaraderie, making the event a true celebration of table tennis for all ages and abilities.

Widely recognised for its community spirit, inclusivity and longevity, the Championships exemplify table tennis as a sport that welcomes everyone, regardless of age, experience or playing style.

TTA CEO Nicole Adamson said bringing the Championships to Albury marks an exciting step forward.

“Our Veterans community is one of our largest, most passionate and most engaged groups of members. Every year, this event highlights their incredible spirit, full of competitiveness, connection and a deep love for the sport,” Ms Adamson shared.

“We are thrilled to bring the 2026 National Veterans Championships to Albury and look forward to working closely with Albury City, to deliver an unforgettable experience for all involved.”

Albury Mayor Kevin Mack said the city is pleased to welcome the table tennis community.

“The championship will bring up to 1,000 competitors, officials and supporters to Albury, and we look forward to hosting them at the Lauren Jackson Sports Centre,” Mayor Mack said.

“Events like the National Veterans Championships highlight the strength of sport at every age. We’re proud to host this national gathering and provide a venue where players from across Australia can compete, reconnect and enjoy the sport, and spectators can come and cheer them on.”
