TTA to host Staging Camp ahead of 2026 World Para Table Tennis Championships
Published Fri 09 Oct 2026
Next Monday, 12 October, marks the commencement of our four-week Staging Camp in Melbourne in preparation for the 2026 World Para Championships.
The Staging Camp will be based at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC), with athletes undertaking two training sessions each day, Monday to Friday, throughout the four-week period.
Attendees at the camp will include 2026 International Gold Medallists Sam von Einem, Lin Ma, Lina Lei and Qian Yang, together with our other qualified Victorian-based Para athletes, Danni Di Toro, Nathan Pellissier and Evgeny John Savinov, will be joined by a select group of training partners. These athletes will play an important role in supporting the preparation of our World Para Championship team as they finalise their preparations ahead of the event.
Sue Stevenson, General Manager of TTA's Paralympic Program, stressed the importance of the camp, stating: "The four-week Staging Camp is an important opportunity for our athletes to come together, build on the work they’ve put in throughout the year and ensure they’re in the best possible position heading into the 2026 World Para Table Tennis Championships.
With countless international medallists, alongside our other qualified athletes and dedicated training partners, we have a strong group working towards a common goal. The focus over the next four weeks will be on quality preparation, consistency and giving our athletes every opportunity to perform at their best on the world stage.”
The 2026 World Para Table Tennis Championships will be held in Pattaya, Thailand, from 13–19 November.
Draws and results will be available when the event commences via the International Table Tennis Federation's official tournament page: ITTF World Para Table Tennis Championships Pattaya 2026.
