Table Tennis Australia Welcomes Launch of AOC's Olympian Futures Fund

Published Wed 17 Dec 2025

Table Tennis Australia (TTA) has welcomed the Australian Olympic Committee’s (AOC) recent announcement of a significant new investment in Australia’s Summer and Winter Olympians, including the launch of the $20 million Olympian Futures Fund.

The Fund has been established to support Olympians beyond their competitive careers, while also encouraging sustainability across multiple Olympic cycles. With a home Olympic Games on the horizon, the initiative aims to make Olympic careers more financially viable, recognising the personal, educational and professional sacrifices many athletes make in pursuit of excellence.

Key elements of the Fund include targeted support to assist athletes as they transition from sport, incentives for competing across multiple Games, and measures to support female Olympians returning to competition following childbirth.

The AOC has also announced the introduction of team selection payments for athletes attending future Olympic Games, beginning from Milano Cortina 2026.

TTA CEO Nicole Adamson said the announcement represents a meaningful step forward in athlete wellbeing and long-term support.

“The Olympian Futures Fund is a powerful investment in our athletes as people, not just performers,” Ms Adamson said. “At Table Tennis Australia, we strongly believe in supporting athletes throughout their entire journey, during competition and well beyond it.”

“Knowing there is greater financial and personal support available allows athletes to commit fully to their Olympic ambitions while preparing for life after sport.”
