TTA's Para program hosts National Wheelchair Camp
Published Mon 10 Aug 2026
TTA's Paralympic Program was proud to host wheelchair athletes from across all of our State Para Hubs at a three-day National Wheelchair Camp from Friday 7 to Sunday 9 August.
The camp was held at our National Training Centre at Essendon Football Club, and included emerging wheelchair athletes, as well as National Para Squad and National Para Development Squad wheelchair athletes.
The camp provided an opportunity for the wheelchair athletes to train together under the guidance of our National Para Head Coach, Maggie Meng, our National Athlete & Coach Development Manager (Para), Alois Rosario, as well as four of our State Para Hub Coaches An Phan, Jenny Langridge, Mateo Dvorani and Tien Quach.
Sue Stevenson, General Manager of TTA's Paralympic Program hailed the success of the camp, adding: "To have a large number of not only our wheelchair athletes, but also our Para coaches together in the same room for three days was such a valuable experience for all involved. With our athletes and coaches living across the nation, it's rare that we are able to get so many of them together, unless it's a competition week. As important as the camp was technically, the social aspect of it was just as vital. We're looking forward to seeing what benefits the camp can bring us in the longer term, and I thank all of our athletes and coaches for the wonderful attitudes they brought."
The camp was extremely successful for athletes and coaches alike, and TTA aims to make it an annual event as we continue to grow Para Table Tennis.
