Updates to TTA’s Organisational Structure and Staff Appointments

Published Wed 04 Mar 2026

Table Tennis Australia (TTA) has made a series of organisational adjustments to ensure we remain aligned to our strategic priorities and continue strengthening the way we service athletes, coaches, clubs, States/Territories and the broader table tennis community.

These changes include replacing several previously held roles following staff departures, as well as refining parts of our structure to improve customer servicing, participation support and operational delivery. We thank those who have moved on from TTA for their contributions and wish them every success in their future endeavours.

We are pleased to welcome a number of new team members who will carry this work forward.

Saransh Karnawat joins TTA as Experience and Growth Manager, stepping into a role that has been reshaped to better support participation, customer experience and community engagement. Saransh brings extensive experience across the Australian sports system, having held roles at Golf Australia, Softball Australia, Cricket Victoria, AusCycling and Cricket Australia. His background in program design, participation strategy, digital experience and stakeholder engagement will be instrumental as we refine how we support players, coaches, clubs and partners through a more connected, customer centred approach.

Tom Short has commenced as Marketing Manager, replacing the previous Communication Specialist role, as we continue to develop our national marketing capability. Tom holds a Master of Arts in Digital Media and Society and a Bachelor of Science in Communication and Media Studies. His experience spans media and marketing roles with English and Welsh football clubs, covering social media management, creative development, AV production, web redevelopment and media operations. Tom’s skill set will help strengthen TTA’s brand presence and elevate the way we tell the story of our sport.

We also welcome Aleysa John as Community Programs Officer, replacing an existing role within the community team. Aleysa holds a Master of Business in Sport Management and a Bachelor of Science in Politics, Law and Economics. Her experience includes insights and research roles with The Gemba Group, operational support with Golf Australia, MCG, Spark Events Group and Marvel Stadium, and earlier roles with Rumble Creative Content and Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Aleysa’s analytical and community-focused background will support our commitment to accessible, highquality programs nationwide.

Finally, Tim Burke joins TTA as National Integrity Manager, to continue integrity, compliance and safeguarding functions for the sport. Tim is an experienced senior manager with a background across government and the not-for-profit sector, including Sport and Recreation Victoria, the Department of Health and Human Services, Melbourne Sports Centres and VicSport. Most recently, he served as Manager, Youth Offending Programs at the Department of Justice and Community Safety Victoria, and previously as CEO of ACHPER Victoria. Tim’s leadership will help ensure TTA continues to meet the highest standards of integrity and participant protection.

We are delighted to welcome Saransh, Tom, Aleysa and Tim to the sport. These organisational adjustments position us strongly for the next phase of our strategy, ensuring we remain responsive, community focused and committed to delivering an improved experience for everyone involved in table tennis across the country.
