Vale Jim Miller
Published Thu 08 Jul 2021
TTA passes on our condolences to the family and friends of Jim Miller, who passed away on 7 July 2021 after battling illness. Jim was a mainstay in our great game for more than 70 years as a player, official, administrator and volunteer, in particular in his hometown of Townsville and throughout Queensland.
In partnership with wife Rhonda, the pair have contributed significantly for the betterment of the sport. On a national level, they were both jointly awarded the Fran Keyhoe Award as the Australian Official of the Year in 2008. When Rhonda received her TTA 50 Years of Service to Table Tennis Award in 2019, she spoke fondly of Jim’s unwavering support.
Jim will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. The Australian table tennis community has lost one of its great servants.
Rest in peace Jim.
