William Henzell Awarded TTA Life Membership

TTA is pleased to announce that William Henzell has been awarded Life Membership of TTA for longstanding and valued service to table tennis in Australia. William’s nomination was unanimously supported by the States and Territories at the TTA AGM on Saturday 19 May 2018.

Arguably Australia’s greatest ever player, William’s achievements as a player are far reaching. Highlights included three Olympic Games and four Commonwealth Games appearances, Commonwealth Games silver medallist in Men’s Singles, 10 World Championships appearances, 10 World Cup appearances, top 100 World Ranking, 30 Australian Closed titles (13 singles, 10 doubles, 7 mixed doubles), 5 Australian Open singles titles and multiple doubles and mixed doubles titles, 7 ITTF-Oceania Cup titles (players now participate for the William Henzell Trophy), 5 Oceania singles titles and multiple doubles and mixed doubles titles.

William’s wife Danielle was present when his Life Membership was presented. Congratulations William, your Life Membership has been well and truly earned.
