William Henzell

Vice President

  • He had a successful playing career where he represented Australia at 3 x Olympic Games, and 4 x Commonwealth Games (winning a silver medal in the Men’s Singles in 2006) and record 13-times Australian Men’s Singles Champion

Sam Miller

Elected Director

  • Over 15 years of involvement with table tennis as an official, administrator and player
  • International Blue Badge Umpire and State Referee with over 10 years experience officiating at both the national and international levels
  • Previous board experience with Table Tennis ACT for 7 years and member of the TTA Umpires and Referees Committee since 2020
  • Over 5 years of experience working in Human Resource Management specialising in Public Sector Industrial Relations and Recruitment
  • My priorities include growing table tennis in Australia, particularly through
    • Driving a national umpires and referees strategy to attract, retain and increase the number of qualified officials to achieve greater gender diversity and a younger age profile
    • Contributing to decisions at the national level by working with the leadership teams across the states/territories in a consultative, approachable and open manner
    • Leveraging shared resources, capabilities and knowledge to achieve greater unified outcomes for the sport
    • Ensuring that table tennis remains a sport that provides 'something for everyone' to sustain stakeholder engagement and increase the growth of players, volunteers, officials and coaches.

Lydia Liu

  • Active veterans representative for Victoria with strong performances at national championships, including achieving top national rankings in the Women’s Over 30 and Over 40 categories
  • Passionate advocate for growing participation in table tennis across multicultural communities and promoting greater inclusion, accessibility, and involvement in the sport
  • Experienced professional in Strata Community Management with a strong background in stakeholder engagement, community relations, team coordination, and operational leadership
  • Fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, bringing strong communication skills and the ability to connect with diverse communities both within sport and professional environments

  • Increasing participation opportunities for women, multicultural communities, veteran & junior players, and grassroots athletes across all levels of the sport

Sarah Sandley

  • Extensive experience as a Board Director and as a Chief Executive of commercial and sporting organisations
  • Subject matter expertise in strategy, marketing, community sport strategy and professional governance

  • My priorities include increasing participation in table tennis at a grassroots level both through TTA’s community sport strategy and the marketing strategy and to help to improve the financial position of the sport through fundraising

Clare Grech

  • Significant experience in corporate and commercial law, and with a strong track record of enabling organisations to move quickly in fast-paced environments while maintaining robust governance processes and risk disciplines. 
  • Brings legal and commercial considerations together in a practical way that supports growth, manages risk, and enables strategic business decisions in complex environments. 
  • Legal expertise within the industries of financial services, telecommunications, and resources.
  • Developed a passion for table tennis through my child's involvement. This ignited a commitment to leverage my expertise to grow the sport, foster inclusion, and create meaningful opportunities for future generations.
  • My priorities are to shape the long-term success of table tennis through sustainable growth, strong governance, and expanded participation and capability across the sport.

 

 

 

 

 

Lisa Davis

Appointed Director

(through to 2028)
 

  • Holds a Six Sigma Master Black Belt from GE Capital and a Bachelor of Business and Accounting from Thames Polytechnic.

  • Based in Brisbane, with 25+ years of executive leadership and 15+ years of board-level governance experience.

  • Extensive experience across financial services, banking, insurance, technology, telecommunications, retail and government.

  • Currently a Non-Executive Director of Metrics Group Holdings and Chair of Yabbr, with previous board roles at ARCA and Navalo Financial Services Group.

  • Former senior executive at Equifax, Bank of Queensland, Goodyear, Australia Post and GE Capital, with 12+ years as a state-level soccer player and experience on Football Victoria and National Women’s Soccer boards.
