FRANCK ROGUIEZ APPOINTED AS NATIONAL COACHING & OFFICIATING COORDINATOR
Published Tue 02 Mar 2021
TTA is pleased to announce that Franck Roguiez has taken on the role of National Coaching & Officiating Coordinator, working on a part-time basis.
Roguiez will be responsible for:
- Ensuring all accreditation and re-accreditation requirements are adhered to for coaches and officials.
- Working with State/Territory Associations to plan all coaching and officiating courses they wish to run in 2021.
- Ensuring that TTA meets the coaching and officiating KPI’s as set out in the 2019-2022 TTA Strategic Plan.
Roguiez is already well known in Australian table tennis, given he has been assisting with the TTA High Performance Program, particularly in Queensland and at the National Hopes level. Roguiez also holds a role with Wynnum Table Tennis Association in Brisbane.
Upon making the announcement, TTA CEO Scott Houston commented, "Coaching and officiating are crucial parts of TTA’s ongoing development. In the latest TTA Strategic Plan Implementation Update, both coaching and officiating were listed as ‘at risk’, so there is a clear need to allocate resources in these areas.
"The more coaches we have and the higher qualified they are, the more we will be able to assist with developing players throughout Australia short-term and long-term.
"Officiating is an outstanding and sometimes underrated way to be involved in table tennis. Whether it’s officiating at a local level or striving to reach the international level as many Australians have done in the past, there is a clear pathway available and we hope to both attract new officials and help existing officials reach their potential".
Rogruiez is excited to take up the opportunity, commenting “Coaches and officials play a key role in sport from the grassroots right up to the pinnacle of elite competition. I am very excited to have the opportunity to contribute to the development of table tennis across the country by providing coaches and officials with a clear and comprehensive accreditation pathway as well as ongoing education opportunities.”
Welcome aboard Franck.
