Ping.Pong.Play Wraps Up a Breakthrough Year. Ready to Rally into Secondary Schools in 2026
Published Thu 11 Dec 2025
As 2025 draws to a close, Table Tennis Australia is celebrating a milestone year for Ping.Pong.Play, following the successful national pilot program and the unveiling of its refreshed brand. The year’s centrepiece was the vibrant pilot showcase hosted by Cornish College last month, where students, teachers, Paralympians and sector leaders came together for an afternoon that perfectly captured the program’s spirit; joyful, inclusive, and built around the power of play.
At Cornish College, Paralympians, national players, students and guests all came together to rally, laugh and learn through a series of interactive table tennis stations. The sessions showcased just how welcoming and adaptable the sport isanyone can pick up a bat, anywhere, and join in. It was a true celebration of table tennis as a sport for all, bringing movement, connection and joy to every participant.
Guest speakers Mick Coye (Australian Sports Commission) and Jodie Spedding (Active Education Australia) highlighted the importance of programs like Ping.Pong.Play in building confident, active young people. Students reinforced this impact firsthand, sharing how the program strengthened their teamwork, belonging and enjoyment during the school’s program sessions.
Throughout the 2025 pilot, teachers across Australia praised the curriculum-aligned lessons, flexibility and ease of delivery. The refreshed brand, developed with Spike Creative, helped cement Ping.Pong.Play’s identity as a modern, accessible program that removes barriers and welcomes every young person to the table. With strong feedback and clear proof of concept, the program is now ready for its next major step.
TTA CEO Nicole Adamson said the pilot has laid the foundation for a new era of school-based participation, “Ping.Pong.Play has shown how simple, inclusive activities can build confidence, connection and a real love of movement in young people,” she said. “Schools have embraced the program, students have thrived, and we’re incredibly excited to bring this experience into secondary schools in 2026. This is the future of table tennis, vibrant, fun, welcoming and accessible to all.”
As we move into 2026, Ping.Pong.Play is fully prepared to expand into secondary schools, supported by the ongoing collaboration of key partners including the Australian Sports Commission, Active Education Victoria, Cornish College, and Spike Creative. Their commitment has been vital in creating a strong, sustainable and inclusive participation pathway for young Australians.
Ping.Pong.Play: Because every young person deserves a place at the table—this year, next year, and beyond.
