TTA Releases February 2026 National Rankings
Published Fri 06 Mar 2026
The Table Tennis Australia (TTA) National Selection Panel is pleased to announce the release of the National Rankings List for February 2026, highlighting the performances of athletes across all categories. This second update for 2026 continues the implementation of the new National Rankings System, ensuring a transparent and consistent approach to ranking Australia’s top table tennis talent.
The Open, Youth and Junior National Rankings categories have been released. It’s fantastic to see so many dedicated players represented across our lists, reflecting the depth and strength of participation within the Australian table tennis community.
The second rankings of 2026 once more recognise the achievements of our athletes, showcasing commitment and progress from emerging players through to our most experienced competitors.
Results from the ITTF-Oceania Cup Christchurch 2026, WTT Youth Contender Tunis 2026, 2026 NSW Closed Championships, WTT Star Contender Chennai 2026 and the 2026 TTNSW Junior Closed Championships have impacted the rankings upon February's conclusion.
Finn Luu remains top of the Men's rankings, ahead of Hwan Bae and Xuqi Lin, whilst Yangzi Liu maintains her number one spot in the Women's rankings, with Minhyung Jee climbing from 4th to 2nd after her performance at the ITTF-Oceania Cup Christchurch 2026.
There has been significant movements in certain categories due to a ‘National Ranking List Eligibility Review’.
Per the TTA National Rankings Regulations - 6-Month Review, TTA amended the eligibility definition for being on the list:
- The original definition of an ‘eligible’ player was a player who holds Australian citizenship and/or is eligible to represent Australia internationally.
- To allow for greater representation on the National Ranking Lists, the definition of an ‘eligible’ player has been updated to a player who holds Australian citizenship or is a Permanent Resident of Australia.
Further, TTA committed to reviewing athlete eligibility for the top 20 in each list. For the February ranking list, we have prioritised Senior, U19, and U15 lists (both male and female). After review, some athletes have been marked as ineligible for this list, meaning they are now on a separate list which includes athletes who are not eligible to be included in the Table Tennis Australia National Ranking Lists.
If anyone wants to reach out about their eligibility, they can do so here.
Rob Gomm, General Manager of TTA’s Olympic Program, added: “The February rankings have now been released, and with a limited number of tournaments played during the period there hasn’t been significant movement. Most of the changes we’ve seen come from a review of athlete eligibility within the ranking list, ensuring the rankings accurately reflect the current playing group.”
TTA congratulates all athletes for their effort, dedication, and outstanding performances. These rankings not only celebrate individual success but also play an important role in selection considerations for future national and international events.

The National Rankings are published in accordance with the National Ranking Regulations, ensuring fairness and consistency across all categories. TTA encourages all athletes, coaches, and supporters to review the latest rankings and celebrate the achievements of Australia’s vibrant table tennis community.
