TTA releases January 2026 National Rankings
Published Fri 06 Feb 2026
The Table Tennis Australia (TTA) Selection Panel is pleased to announce the release of the National Rankings List for January 2026, highlighting the performances of athletes across all categories. This first update for 2026 continues the implementation of the new National Rankings System, ensuring a transparent and consistent approach to ranking Australia’s top table tennis talent.
The Open, Youth and Junior National Rankings categories have been released. It’s fantastic to see so many dedicated players represented across our lists, reflecting the depth and strength of participation within the Australian table tennis community.
The first rankings of 2026 once more recognise the achievements of our athletes, showcasing commitment and progress from emerging players through to our most experienced competitors.
Results from the TTA National Invitational, TTA Hopes Tour and the TTA Tour have impacted the rankings, as Finn Lu’s victory at the TTA National Invitational pushes him to the number one ranking at Senior Men’s level. Connie Psihogios’ strong performance at the TTA National Invitational also sees her climb to second place in the Senior Women’s rankings.
Aaron Nguyen and Ting Chia Cheng’s run to the final at the U19 Boys’ tournament in Western Australia has ensured both also move up the U19 Boys’ rankings, with Nguyen rising from 14th to 6th, with Cheng moving up two places, from 7th to 5th.
After Alex Xia’s gold-winning performance at the U19 Girls TTA Tour WA, she now sits at 3rd place in the U19 Girls rankings.
Rob Gomm, General Manager of TTA’s Olympic Program, added: ““It’s great to see so many athletes rewarded for their performances across January’s key domestic events, including the TTA National Invitational, TTA Hopes Tour and TTA Tour WA. These events are central to our strategy to elevate domestic competitions and deliver high-quality table tennis for all Australians to watch and compete in.”
TTA congratulates all athletes for their effort, dedication, and outstanding performances. These rankings not only celebrate individual success but also play an important role in selection considerations for future national and international events.
