Vale Kevin Langridge
Published Thu 23 Feb 2017

Kevin commenced playing Table Tennis in 1970 and contributed significantly on many committees at a local, State and National level.
Kevin was a founding member of the Knox Table Tennis Club. Kevin played for Knox in the Croydon & Districts Table Tennis Association (CDTTA) from 1971 to 2010 at which time he stopped due to illness. He was on the Knox TTC committee for 7 years, 3 years as President. He was responsible for the introduction of team shirts which CDTTA then adopted for all teams.
Kevin was on the CDTTA Board for 11 years holding positions as President, Vice President, and Treasurer, as well as being an integral member of the Croydon Masters Tournament Sub-Committee for 15 years. Both Knox and Croydon awarded Kevin with Life Memberships for the outstanding contribution he made over many years.
Kevin went on to serve at State Level as a Board Member of the Victorian Table Tennis Association from 1986 to 1990. From 1990 to 1993 he served on the inaugural sub committee of the TTA Veterans committee. A highlight for Kevin was working together with his daughter Marie on the Organising Committee for the 1994 World Veteran’s Championships held at the Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne.
Kevin played almost 1,000 nights of pennant for Knox; most of those being in the Croydon pennant. Kevin also represented Knox in VTTA pennant with one of the highlights being when he played with two of his daughters, Marie and Jenny. Kevin represented Victoria at many National Veteran’s Championships and won National Teams and Doubles titles. He was nationally ranked in the Over 50’s and had impressive international performances at the USA and Canadian Veteran’s Championships.
We would like to extend our best wishes and sympathies to Kevin’s wife, Josie, and his 3 daughters, Marie Pinkewich, Linda Williams and Jenny Langridge, and their families.
Funeral notice will be advised shortly.
