2026 Club Capability & Growth Program Now Open

Published Fri 09 Oct 2026

Table Tennis Australia (TTA) is pleased to announce the launch of the 2026 Club Capability & Growth Program, providing affiliated clubs and associations with access to funding of up to $2,000 per application to strengthen participation, club capability and long-term sustainability.

Formerly known as the Equipment & Facilities Grant Program, the refreshed program supports practical investment that helps clubs create welcoming, inclusive and sustainable environments where more Australians can enjoy table tennis.

The program aligns with TTA's strategic direction and the Australian Sports Commission's Play Well Strategy.

A Transitional Approach for 2026

The 2026 program represents a transitional year, retaining the core funding arrangements of the previous program while broadening the scope of eligible investments to better reflect the evolving needs of clubs.

The program maintains the previous equipment funding settings, with infrastructure and facilities projects excluded for 2026 while dedicated guidelines remain under review.

This approach provides continuity for clubs while supporting practical investment across three streams:

Equipment & Signage:
Tables, nets, barriers, training equipment, storage solutions, signage and event activation equipment.

Technology:
Competition laptops, tablets, audiovisual equipment, competition management equipment and other technology supporting club administration and participant experiences. RevSport portal fees are also eligible, including additional costs arising from Fun & Fan membership growth and associated subscription tier increases.

Safety & Accessibility:
Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), first aid equipment, protective barriers, safety signage, lighting improvements and accessibility initiatives.

Eligible affiliated clubs and associations can apply for up to $2,000 per project, with TTA contributing a maximum of 50% of the total eligible project value. Applicants must contribute at least 50% through cash and/or in-kind support.

Funding is competitive and subject to the available program budget.

Building Towards the 2027–2030 Framework

The 2026 program represents the first step towards a nationally aligned Club Capability & Growth Framework for 2027–2030.

Rather than introducing substantial changes in a single year, TTA will work collaboratively with Member Associations to develop a longer-term approach that reflects jurisdictional priorities, club needs and the different capacities of clubs across Australia.

This work forms part of the broader Participation Landscape Review, which will inform the development of the National Play Well Plan 2027–2030 and help establish shared national and jurisdictional priorities for participation, club development and sustainability.

The future framework will consider how investment can better support participation opportunities, club capability, volunteers, governance, digital development and long-term sustainability. Facilities, venue access, and infrastructure investment will also be considered through this process.

Member Associations will play a central role in consultation, drawing on their knowledge of affiliated clubs and local participation environments to inform the national approach.

The 2027–2030 framework remains subject to consultation and has not been finalised.

Alongside consultation with Member Associations, TTA invites affiliated clubs to contribute their perspectives through the Club Capability & Growth Survey.

Club feedback will complement Member Association insights and help shape future investment priorities and practical club development initiatives.

The survey will remain open until 30 April 2027.
