Inaugural Inductees into the TTA Hall of Fame (Veterans) Announcement
Published Sun 20 Oct 2019
The inaugural inductions into the TTA Hall of Fame (Veterans) took place during the Closing Function of the 2019 National Veterans Championships on Saturday 19 October in Adelaide. Earlier this year the TTA Board decided to expand the TTA Hall of Fame to cover all areas of the sport, including Veterans. The TTA Hall of Fame recognises outstanding contributions made to table tennis in the fields of playing, coaching, officiating and/or administering the sport. A person may only be inducted into the TTA Hall of Fame by meeting the criteria listed in the TTA Hall of Fame Regulations.
TTA is pleased to announce that seven icons of Australian Veterans table tennis are the inaugural inductees into the TTA Hall of Fame (Veterans):
- Igor Klaf (Victoria). Profile can be viewed by clicking here.
- Betty Bird (South Australia). Profile can be viewed by clicking here.
- Paul Pinkewich (New South Wales). Profile can be viewed by clicking here.
- Pamela Tait (Victoria). Profile can be viewed by clicking here.
- Inh Van Le (New South Wales). Profile can be viewed by clicking here.
- Prisca Rosario (posthumously) (Victoria). Profile can be viewed by clicking here.
- Kay Crowell (South Australia). Profile can be viewed by clicking here.
All seven inductees have been outstanding contributors to table tennis in Australia and their records as Veterans players are unrivalled. Their induction into the TTA Hall of Fame (Veterans) provides outstanding recognition for the quality and quantity of their involvement in our great game over a long period of time.
Congratulations to all inductees, you are all worthy recipients of this prestigious honour.
NOTE: TTA Board Member Marie Pinkewich has a declared Conflict of Interest in relation to Paul Pinkewich and Pamela Tait. In line with the TTA Conflict of Interest handling process, Marie Pinkewich was not involved in the discussion or decision making process related to the inductions of Paul Pinkewich and Pamela Tait into the TTA Hall of Fame (Veterans).
