Table Tennis Australia Launches Rebranded Foundation Program – PING.PONG.PLAY.

Published Thu 29 May 2025

Table Tennis Australia is proud to officially launch its newly rebranded foundation program Ping.Pong.Play, formerly known as Spinneroos, is aimed at introducing more Australians to the sport in a fun, accessible and inclusive way.

The brand and logo, created by Spike Creative, visually captures the spirit of Ping.Pong.Play. It features a dynamic and playful design, reflecting movement, energy, fun, connection and inclusiveness – core values of the program. The vibrant colour palette and modern typography are designed to resonate with younger audiences, while remaining approachable for all ages. This fresh visual identity supports TTA’s commitment to making the sport of table tennis fun, welcoming and accessible to all.

Thanks to the Australian Sports Commission’s Play Well Project, Ping.Pong.Play. is also expanding into the secondary school space through the Sporting Schools Initiative. The brand-new secondary school program features an inclusive Sport Education in Physical Education Program (SEPEP), an alternative sport participation model to engage all students, regardless of skill or experience. The alternative model gives students the opportunity to still experience table tennis by participating in roles such as coaching, umpiring, scoring and team managing. The student-centred model aids in developing key skills like leadership, teamwork, collaboration, responsibility and confidence, skills that extend well beyond the PE environment.

Bringing the program into secondary schools across the country supports TTA’s mission to grow participation and inspire lifelong engagement in Table Tennis. Refreshed primary school modules were also part of the rebrand, with resources being developed to support multiculturalism and increase female engagement. Every activity in the revamped program includes para modifications and disability inclusions to ensure accessibility and access for everyone.

To ensure a strong start in the secondary school space, Ping.Pong.Play. is currently being piloted in five (5) Secondary Schools across Australia, including Faith Lutheran College (SA), Shirley Smith High School (ACT), Devonport Christian School (TAS), Wiluna Remote Community School (WA) and Cornish College (VIC). Registrations for the program through the Sporting Schools Initiative have opened, and a sneak peak of the pilot will be available over the coming weeks across our social platforms.

The Ping.Pong.Play. initiative is further supported by four of Table Tennis Australia’s High-Performance athletes who have signed on as program ambassadors, Finn Luu, Aditya Sareen, Connie Psihogios and Min Hyung Jee. Our four ambassadors will connect with students via videos and where possible live virtual check-ins. By integrating these role models into the program, Ping.Pong.Play. aims to inspire and motivate the next generation and foster a positive sporting environment.
“Ping.Pong.Play. is about more than just learning a new sport, it’s about fun, connection and creating a positive first experience. We are so grateful to the Australian Sports Commission for helping us bring Ping.Pong.Play. to life. If there is one thing we know about table tennis, it's that it is a sport that can be played by anyone regardless of age, gender and ability. We’re excited to see clubs and schools getting behind the movement and can’t wait to watch it grow”, said Nicole Adamson, CEO Table Tennis Australia.

As part of the overall launch, a number of affiliated clubs from across the nation will signed on to be the first to trial the revamped program. These ‘Launch Partners’ will be the first to run the revamped program within the club space, providing valuable feedback and helping shape the national rollout of the program. Affiliated clubs to express interest in becoming a launch partner include: Croydon and Districts Table Tennis Association (VIC), Geelong Table Tennis Association (VIC), Woodville District Table Tennis Club (SA), TTWA Centre (WA), Bundaberg & District Table Tennis Association (QLD), Table Tennis ACT (ACT) and ELITE TT (NSW).
